Respite Care

LCCOA Respite Program

Respite Care is not a luxury, but a necessity for families who are caring for chronically ill, impaired loved ones. Respite breaks offer caregivers an opportunity to revitalize their energies, enhance their abilities to perform care-giving tasks and avoid burnout. The use of respite care is an essential piece in the overall support that families need to keep their loved ones at home. Respite Care can reduce the potential for abuse and neglect, reduce a family's isolation and reduce stress which undermines the caregiver's own health. It is a gift of time.
